The hotel was owned by David J. Batey from 1 Aug 1904 to 26 Mar 1909, then sold to W. Garlick who owned it from 27 Mar 1909 to 18 Jan 1915. Note Batey's name on the 2nd floor of this 3 storey wooden building.
