Bankend with thatched cottages. My wife’s g-g grandmother Mary BOYD (1834-1921) lived Bankend, Caerlaverock with father William BOYD( 1811-1888) a Tailor; mother Jane ANDERSON (1810-1860); son Matthew EWART (1858-1943). All died in Bankend except Matthew who emigrated to Australia in 1882.
